The plot called for a kiss between K. and F., but hey he didn't write it. But he kept alive the dead-evil-mad lesbian clich? without all that self-commiseration.

And the empty pages with photos just to keep the paper full of something. (Nikk pages...oh soooo useless).
<font size="2" face="Comic sans ms, Helvetica, sans-serif">I agreed with many things Peanuts said. I do think that Terry made some things up as he went along, and changed the story and was caught in his descrepancies. Then had more time to think about them and made up reasons for the discrepancies. Its fairly obvious this was the case.

I also agree about the mob stuff being way too out of control and quite frankly inappropriate for this book. Personally, I don't think we needed the mob stuff to come along at all. It did bug me that he is supposedly against violence but includes it very graphically in his book. It is a let down for some fans I think.

However, I will say that there are more reasons than just bending to popular media expectations for why Francine and Katchoo have not kissed or shared a bed yet. This is, to a certain degree, a love story, and love stories end when the two main characters get together. If they had their moment, that would be it. One of the reasons shows like the X-Files and Xena worked is because the two main characters never got toegether, but still experienced their lives together. Any show that made the mistake of getting their characetrs together, usually lost a big part of the fan base shortly after that.

Plus, unlike many, I am not a fan of the Katchoo/Francine coupling. I don't want them to get together and I don't think they belong together, so if they did, I would lose interest as a fan. To have them constantly working things out without defining them solidly keeps both sides of the fans hanging on.

Oh, and just for the record, the two page spread of Nikki was one of my favorite spreads that Terry has ever done. I even wrote to him to ask if I could buy it, but he had already sold it by the time he read my email. So everybody's tastes are different.

<font size="2" face="Comic sans ms, Helvetica, sans-serif">Something like that. I think it's up to 9 issues or so. I DO give things time to improve. I just don't think it's improved all that much. I don't like the art. That's really my only big complaint. I could go on about how much I can't stand how they write Dani, but honestly, they're just going with how the character has been for the past few years. There are good things about it. They do care about continuity, which is a rare thing indeed.

The cover art, on the other hand, has been quite good. Too bad the rest of the book isn't like that.

As for the other X-books... Well, let's just say that I've only been tempted once in the past 6 or 7 years to pick them back up. Honestly, I'm glad that I didn't.

I'm going to agree and disagree with Gem...I agree that Francie and Katchoo don't belong together...it would spoil a great many things that make them, them...

I do however enjoy all of the mob intrigues nd actions...oh sure, sometimes it seems to take over, but Terry wouldn't ever let it go overboard for too long...it's actually a quality that gives the book it's quirkiness...there's also a metaphor in there somewhere I'm sure if I think about it a little harder...

That was a request, right?? heh

I too was more than annoyed at the whole Mob thing and said so more than once! Especially at the graphic violence, c'mon Terry!

So like others have said Peanut, you're in good company with those opinions! Lets hope Terry returns to form and gives us REAL SiP for a good long time

They are not meant to belong together?

I think I was reading another book then.
